As a religion teacher and a mom of five, I know the challenge of helping kids engage with their faith in a meaningful way. With a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and two master’s degrees—one in special education/behavior disorders and one in administration—I’ve taught students at every grade level, from Pre-K to high school. This wide range of experience helps me create resources that actually work for different ages and learning needs.
How Catholic Kids Bulletin Began…
When my oldest daughter, Mady, was three, I found myself sitting at Mass, wishing there was an easy way to help her focus on the readings. I searched for a free, simple resource that she could color, draw on, and enjoy each Sunday—but nothing existed. So, naturally, I used my experience as a teacher and mom to create it myself!
The Catholic Mass is beautiful and rich in meaning. For children, its language, symbolism, and miraculous nature can feel overwhelming. These bulletins hopefully help kids find something to connect with each Sunday while growing in our amazing faith.
I have five awesome kiddos, and over the years, they’ve all used the bulletins at different ages. Some more enthusiastically than others! When they were little, the bulletins were a staple in our pew at Mass. We also used them in their Faith Formation classes from Pre-K through 3rd grade. One of my kids loves tracing the words carefully in rainbow colors. Another prefers to speed through the pictures and fold the paper into the tiniest possible shape—why, I have no idea. Another enjoys following along with the Mass and tackling every maze. Watching how each of them engaged with the bulletins in their own way has helped me create fun, flexible resources that work for kids!
After a few years of creating the FREE weekly bulletins, I started adding more resources to my TPT store to support teachers and parents in bringing the faith to their students. I’ve worked with many students who are new to Catholicism and need the basics. Many of my products are made with them in mind—simple, engaging, and easy to implement.
If you’re looking for great faith-based resources to help your students connect with their faith, head over to my TPT store. You’ll find everything you need to teach your Catholic kids!
