Teaching Catholic Saints with Skits: Fun, Faith, and Fluency

Catholic Saint Skits

Catholic Saint Skits are a terrific way for students to learn a new topic as well as increase reading fluency and comprehension. Also–my students are always excited about a skit, and considerably less excited about reading a handout. Here are a few saints with feast days in the coming months.

Each resource includes a short skit, coloring page, and note-taking worksheet so students can take notes about the play. The coloring page is usually the same image from the Mass Bulletins and the Saint Coloring Book (with 77 Catholic Saint Coloring Pages!). The graphic organizer/note-taking handout would be perfect for a bulletin board or saint notebook.

Catholic Saints Skits: Easy Quick Lesson to get students interested in the Catholic Saints, improve reading fluency and comprehension. A fun way to teach about saints such as Saint John Bosco, Saint Katharine Drexel, and Saint Francis of Rome!

More About Catholic Saint Skits

These Catholic Saint Skits are easy to prep and easy to use. Just print and go! The dialogue is written for students, so the vocabulary is approachable while still respectful of each saint’s life and mission. Whether you’re acting it out in class or reading it together as a group, the skit format helps students retain the story and connect with the message in a memorable way.

The included note-taking worksheet encourages active listening and helps students pick out key facts about the saint’s life, their challenges, and their holiness. It’s a simple tool that turns a quick activity into a meaningful lesson. Many teachers have used the worksheet pages as part of a saint notebook or to decorate their classroom bulletin board with student reflections.

Don’t forget—when you grab the full Saint Skit Bundle, you’ll get 16 different saints to explore throughout the school year. From Saint Gianna Molla’s courage to Saint John Bosco’s joy, each one offers students a powerful role model and a fun learning experience. Whether you’re planning a Catholic Schools Week celebration, looking for a last-minute activity, or building a unit on saints, these skits are a must-have!
